Located in the heart of Kevadia colony, a tribal region area in the state of Gujrat, the Statue of Unity is the major tourist attraction that has started to bring tourists in huge numbers from other states and every nook and corners of the world. Statue of Unity, with a height of 182 meters (597 feet) is the world’s tallest statue. This statue has an overall height of 240 m (790 feet) where the base height is 58 m (190 feet).

Befitting the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Statue of Unity is an architectural masterpiece to marvel at. Designed by the Padma Bhushan winning sculptor Ram V Sutar, the statue is made with a steel structure, bronze exterior, and cement reinforcement. It took a whopping investment of nearly RS. 3000 crores to convert the dream of having the tallest statue to honor his contributions which came into reality in 2018 when it was opened for tourists.

The first level is comprised of a Museum which showcases the achievements and history of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a walk to memory lane. Further high up to 149 meters in zone 2. How to reach the Statue of Unity?

Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) is operating a daily Volvo bus from Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Vadodara to Statue of Unity. Visit the GSRTC.IN and enter the destination as “STATUE OF UNITY(NAVAGAM)” (No direct bus from Surat and Mumbai)

Proximity with near cities:

The Statue of Unity is 90 Km away from Vadodara. Also, it is 200 Km from Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat. Surat another major city of Gujarat has located 150 Km from it. The nearest city is Rajpipla, in the Narmada district which is 25 Km away from the destination. Apart from it, it is 420 Km from Mumbai, one of the largest and busiest airports in India. National Highway 11 & 63 connects Mumbai with Statue of Unity.

International tourists and tourists from other states have the option of taking the air route to the nearest airport and then travel by road. The roads from Vadodara are swift and will take you to your destination in around two hours.

Seaplane from Ahmedabad –

Starting Oct 31st, 2020 it has become further convenient to reach the Statue of Unity. The Spice jet air flight provider has started operating seaplanes between Ahmedabad and Statue of Unity. It flies a 15 seater Twin otter 300 flight and to fly into this aircraft would be an experience in itself.

It reduces the travel time from Ahmedabad significantly. The journey which takes around 4 hours by road, now can be completed in less than an hour. One-way fare cost is around Rs.1500 and recommended to book the tickets in advance. The frequency of flights every day is 4 arrivals and 4 departures.

Statue of Unity Tickets and Visiting Hours:

A trip to the Statue of unity can be more exciting if you can plan the timing a bit in advance, based on the spots you want to cover. The ticket tariff is kept at marginal prices only under the below categories.

Entry tickets – Child RS. 60 & Adults RS. 120; Under this ticket, you will get access to Valley of Flower, Memorial, Museum & Audio Visual Gallery, Statue of Unity Site, and Sardar Sarovar Dam

Viewing Gallery – Child RS. 200 & Adults RS. 350; Under this ticket, you will get access to the Observation desk view, Valley of Flower, Memorial, Museum & Audio Visual Gallery, Statue of Unity site, and Sardar Sarovar Dam.

Express Tickets – Child RS. 1000 & Adults RS. 1000; Under this ticket, you will get access to the Observation desk view, Valley of Flower, Memorial, Museum & Audio Visual Gallery, Statue of Unity Site, and Sardar Sarovar Dam. This is an express ticket meaning you will get privileged access to the site and in a day when the rush is more, the option for express tickets can save your day.

For international tourists, it is recommended to get the express tickets. For international tourists, the tariff is slightly higher around RS. 500 more than the usual price. For bus services, one has to pay a nominal price of RS. 30 more.

Visiting Hour (8:00 am – 6:00 pm): The Statue of Unity is open for tourists 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, Monday being an off day for maintenance every week. The sites open early at 8:00 AM and close by 6:00 PM but it is not the end of your trip. 7:30 onwards you can watch the Laser light and Sound show which is highly recommended.
